My Cabinet duties started quiet this reporting period, followed by a brief period of business leading into Summer Camp. Between March and May, Arden's resignation moved me into the position of Deputy Leader of the Opposition. For the May mini, I kept my duties as RESOD. I planned icebreaker activities, as well as the Marshmallow Challenge activity at the suggestion of Marley. As with March, I wrote vespers for May.
Following the May mini, I began taking over DLO duties. I sent up follow-up emails regarding hte may mini. Due to issues with gMail and multiple recipients, this was sent shortly after May, but had to be re-sent, as many recipients did not originally recieve it. Following that update, I wrote registration and descriptions for the summer event, which was sent to members. As summer event applications flowed in, I compiled them and checked for dietary needs, while also laughing at the many jokes embedded in members' forms. I sent out several reminders, both to Cabinet and Membership, about the event, as well as preiodically checking/updating the facebook page, and sending messages to all listed as "maybe" on said page. I was pleased to have 19 members registered for the event.
In the same time period, I began collaborating with Kaby about the logistics of summer. With the venue already booked before May, we draughted a meal plan and a tentative schedule, as well as lists of things which we asked Cabinet members to bring.
This period, I spent roughly $20 on spaghetti and marshmallows, but covered the cost myself, and do not intend on charging SYP.
The next report period will include buying of groceries for, and the actual running of Summer Event. Also in the next period, I will start planning the initiatives the Membership committee wants to explore. I will also periodically update members as to what is going on with SYP.
