Hi everybody,

In July I attended the Summer Event. On a whole the event went very well as Joey and Kaby worked really well together as there was a good balance between activities and free time. Best of all the weather was great and there were no problems. For the Summer Event I also helped in getting the final designs done for the new merchandise. The merchandise looks great and is selling very well. Credit to Brittany for taking the lead in giving the final touches to the design of the clothing and for having it made. Also in July I put up the cabinet reports onto the SYP website. With this I have been doing work in trying to get the word of SYP out on social media including twitter and facebook.

In August I planned and attended the Summer cabinet meeting. In the following weeks I did some work in answering questions and editing letters that needed to be sent out. In early September I attended the Global Showcase at the University of Regina where myself and David signed up a few potential new members for SYP. Credit is deserved to Tiffany for helping to organize things for that. Otherwise I organized and attended the September cabinet meeting in Saskatoon. Special thanks to Daisy and Jordan for their help in organizing things in Saskatoon for the weekend. I also completed and sent in both of my articles for the Parliamentarian.

One of the projects that I have been working on over the year is the First Nations project. Currently I have completed around fifty envelops that I will be sending out to First Nations across the province. I also have plans to send e-mails to a number of First Nations organizations and to some people at the First Nations University of Canada once the application from for the Tri-Provincial Mini is completed. I will also be sending an e-mail to a few Métis organizations. Currently I have goal of gaining only one new First Nations member as that would be a 100% increase in our current First Nations membership which is a woeful 0%. Hopefully this will change after this project is completed.

Another area that I have been working on is the Centennial. The Centennial will be run and organized by alumni, but there will likely be a role for cabinet to play in this. Currently our first meeting has been delayed to a later date after most of the organizing committee would not be able to attend. None the less, the committee is coming together and we will soon begin the real planning for the Centennial. More details are to come.

So for the future, I also plan to send out e-mails to Tuxis and YPM to inform them of our Tri-Provincial Mini. As well, I will be sending notification to the Knights of Columbus about our upcoming events. In October I will be contacting the federal parties about donating a meal or money to us to cover the costs of a meal at Session. I will be working on the provincial parties in November after the provincial election. I am much less confident that I will get anything from them as the war chests for the elections are sure to be pretty depleted, but it is worth trying anyways.

That's all for now. Hard to believe that the next time I write a cabinet report it will be my year long review for the Parliamentarian.

Have a Good Day
