This summer was a great one for SYP, however relatively unbusy for me. I regularly checked my emails and contributed where I could, and there were a few instances where I did things!
The first was consideration of Constitutional changes for Bills to be presented at Christmas Session. It was decided with Res-Con that we would not be pushing any Bills at Session. For the first part of the year, I considered a Financial Accountability act, but decided against it as it would restrict the actions of the Finance Minister. In addition, it is already the Minister of Finances job to hold the books accountable. I also took suggestions from Cabinet as to changes, but Resolution Constitution decided against them after considering them in detail.
For summer camp, I planned an activity to help members and cabinet ministers write and begin debate on resolutions. I think this went well, as there were no complaints (except for Tiffany cause she did not win. Whatevs.).
After this, I attended the summer cabinet meeting via skype, and the September cabinet meeting in Saskatoon. Recently, I have contacted and attained 2/3 staff for Christmas Session!
Coming up, I will have the Alumni newsletter done, I am writing one of the three resolutions for the November Mini. I will be finding some pages and hopefully getting some greetings as well. Speaker, out!
