Speaker : Jessica Iris
The Speaker is the House’s spokesperson and oversee its proceedings. In particular, s/he is responsible for maintaining order and decorum in the House. S/He is also responsible for maintaining contact with the Alumni of SYP.
Premier: David Peters
The Premier is the leader of the Executive Council. S/He is in charge of chairing cabinet meetings and assigning portfolios to cabinet ministers.
Leader of the Opposition: Kaby Eremondi
The Leader of the Opposition’s primary duty is to stay informed with the cabinet ministers’ progress throughout the year. The Leader of the Opposition also conducts a cabinet autopsy at the end of the year where cabinet ministers and leadership report their year’s work to membership.
Deputy Premier: Ben Bushell
The Deputy Premier is in charge of finding sponsorship for the organization. S/He also sells confectionery items and SYP merchandise at events.
Deupty Leader of the Opposition: Joseph Chilliak
The Deputy Leader of the Opposition is in charge of membership, both recruiting new members and retaining old ones. S/He is also in charge of collecting applications for the events throughout the year.
Minister of Finance: Chelsea Dumontier
The Minister of Finance is in charge of Saskatchewan Youth Parliament’s books. S/He keeps the financial records in order and prepares a budget, which members must approve at Christmas Session.
Minister of Sessional Arrangments: Eric Holloway
The Minister of Sessional Arrangements is in charge of planning Christmas Session, which includes accommodations, food and transportation to and from the legislature.
Minister of Constituent Arrangements: McKenzie Warriner
The Minister of Constituent Arrangements is in charge of planning Minis throughout the year. S/He is in charge of finding a school to host the mini, preparing the meals, and organizing the activities for the constituent event.
Minister of Public Relations and Communications: Rainer Kocsis
The Minister of Public Relations and Communications is in charge of attracting media to our events. His or her duties include press releases and talking with the media before and during events.
Minister of Religious and Social Development: James Herman
The Minister of Religious and Social Development’s primary duties include planning entertaining activities at events and selecting a charity to receive SYP’s annual donation.
Minister of Publications: Rebecca Hoiseth
The Minister of Publications is in charge of creating a Journal and the Parliamentarian. The Journal is the official record of the past Session while the Parliamentarian is a way for members to express their ideas in a written fashion. S/He is also in charge of unofficial publications.
Minister of Internal Affairs: Emily Klatt
The Minister of Internal Affairs is in charge of recoding the cabinet meeting minutes, creating new handbooks for the year, and internal communications.
Minister of Recruitment: Myles Fuchs
The Minister of Recruitment aids the Deputy Leader of the Opposition with the membership portfolio. S/He is in charge of arranging presentations in schools, keeping promotional materials up to date, as well as organizing mailouts to the members before each event.
Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs: Spencer Warriner
The Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs organizes the next Session of Western Canadian Youth Parliament over the course of their two-year term. This event will be taking place in the spring of 2014.
